概要

This scholarship is intended to promote the Japanese language education by supporting the training of Japanese language instructors and other professionals. It is awarded to students enrolled at Japanese universities (including graduate schools and junior colleges), including privately-funded international students, who have passed the Japanese Language Teaching Conpetency Test and demonstrate a strong desire to contribute to the advancement of Japanese language education.

Qualifier A person who meets all of the following requirements.
(1) Individuals enrolled as regular students in April 2025 in a bachelor's degree program, master's degree program (including the first and second years of integrated master's and doctoral programs), doctoral degree program (including the third year or above of integrated master's and doctoral programs), or junior college in Japan, aiming to become Japanese language instructors or similar roles.
(2) Persons possessing Japanese nationality, persons granted permanent residence in Japan, or privately-funded foreign students. In the case of privately-funded foreign students, their status of residence during their stay in Japan must be ‘Student’.
(3) Those who passed the JAPANESE LANGUAGE TEACHING COMPETENCY TEST conducted by us in the 2024 academic year.
(4) Individuals for whom the period of receipt, if adopted, would be equivalent to one academic year or more from April 2025.
(5) During the period of receipt of this scholarship, the recipient shall not receive any other scholarship administered by us, and the total amount received from other organisations shall not exceed ¥600,000 per year (equivalent to ¥50,000 per month). [This excludes loans requiring repayment, tuition fee exemptions, and the National Higher Education Study Support System.]
(6) Persons who can obtain a recommendation from the head of the school in which they are enrolled in April 2025.
