【On Foot】Approximately 50 minutes from Karuizawa Station
【By Taxi】About 7 minutes from Shinano Railway Naka-Karuizawa Station
【By Bus】Take the Karuizawa Town Circulation Bus (East/South Loop Line) and get off at “Chūgakkō-mae” (in front of the junior high school).
   ※From the “Chūgakkō-mae” bus stop, it takes about 10 minutes on foot to reach the Karuizawa Seminar House.
【Other】There are rental bicycle shops around Karuizawa Station.

step2 : Final Reservation

After receiving the application form, the association will send you a “Usage Permission” and information on how to use the facility.
Please note:
・If the application is not in line with the purpose of the Karuizawa Seminar House, usage may be denied.
・Even after a reservation has been confirmed, if usage is deemed inappropriate, the reservation may be cancelled. In that case, you will be notified separately.

WHEN USING THE FACILITY

If the following rules are not observed, your application may be declined or your use of the facility may be suspended in accordance with JEES regulations.

  • From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Check-out
  • From 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • If you lose the key, you will be charged for replacement. In case of loss, please contact JEES or the management company immediately.

Facilities and Amenities

Parking
  • A maximum of three standard passenger vehicles may be parked, but large vehicles cannot be parked.
Wi-Fi
  • Wi-Fi is not provided. Please bring your own.
Amenities
  • Towels and other amenities are not provided. Please bring your own.
  • A washer-dryer is available for use, but please provide your own detergent.
Bed linen
  • The bed is made. When using bedding, sheets and other items (bed pads, sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers) are provided in the linen cupboard for the number of occupants. Please refer to the laminated photograph and assemble the set yourself.
  • Sheets and similar items are intended to prevent soiling of duvets and pillows, so please make sure to use them.
  • For multiple-night stays, please use the same bedding without requesting a change.
  • A duvet and a lightweight duvet are provided. Please use the duvet when it is cold and the lightweight duvet when it is warm. Should it be colder still, please use the lightweight duvet layered over the duvet.
  • Please remove used sheets and other bedding items from the bed and place them in the entrance hall upon checkout. but please do not remove the bed pad.
Meal
  • Meals are not provided at the facility. Guests may prepare their own meals, but barbecues and campfires outdoors are prohibited.
  • The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, cooking utensils (rice cooker, pots, frying pans), crockery, washing-up liquid, and sponges.
  • After using cooking utensils, crockery, etc., please wash them and return them to their original place.
  • There are a number of restaurants in the neighbourhood, but please check opening hours and regular closing days in advance.
Cleaning
  • A vacuum cleaner (for indoor use) and a broom and dustpan (for the entrance hall) are provided.
  • Please clean any rooms used and sort rubbish into the designated bags provided.
  • Food waste and combustible waste (paper items) should be placed in blue bags. Plastic containers and plastic bags should be rinsed and placed in yellow bags. Bottles, cans and PET bottles should be rinsed and placed in separate red bags.
  • Please leave used bin bags in the entrance hall when vacating the premises.

Nuisance and Other Matters

Nuisance Behaviour
  • The surrounding area is a quiet residential estate. When using the property, please refrain from activities that may disturb neighbours, such such as making noise late into the night. Please be particularly considerate between 10 pm and 7 am.
Fire
  • Please take the utmost care when handling gas stoves, kettles and other sources of open flame.
  • Smoking, barbecues, campfires and fireworks are strictly prohibited on the premises.
  • Please refrain from charging batteries whilst out or asleep, as this may delay initial response in the event of a fire.
Theft
  • During your stay, please take responsibility for managing your own valuables, luggage, and keys to the facilities. please ensure that all doors are locked at night and when leaving the premises. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any thefts that occur.
Climate
  • The average summer temperature in Karuizawa is around 20°C, with maximum temperatures rarely exceeding 30°C. There is no air conditioning. Please note that evenings can feel chilly in short sleeves.
Regarding health status
  • Please confirm your state of health before using.
  • Please do not use this facility if you have any of the following symptoms.
    You have a fever (body temperature of 37.5°C or above) / You have a sore throat or severe fatigue / You have a cough or feel breathless / You currently have an infectious disease such as COVID-19 or influenza and have not recovered / You feel unwell in other ways compared to usual
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitiser is provided for your use in disinfecting surfaces such as tables, chairs, and door handles.
  • Please wear a mask at your own discretion.
  • During your stay at the Karuizawa Seminar House, please ensure frequent ventilation.
  • In the event of an infectious disease outbreak, lending may be suspended even after a reservation has been accepted.

Area information

Shopping
  • A convenience store and a supermarket are located within about a ten-minute cycle ride. The opening hours are typically 6:00 to 23:00 for the convenience store and 10:00 to 20:00 for the supermarket.
